Multnomah Falls
September 22, 2009 at 9:35 pm | Posted in twilight | 2 CommentsTags: Bella, Edward, Forks, movies, Multnomah Falls, sets, trees, twilight
TeamSeath here. I went on a hike up to Multnomah Falls yesterday with my friend and wanted to post some of the pics since the falls is one of the sets for Twilight. Even though the sky was blue and cloudless, it still felt like Forks weather once we were under the tree cover. I love how green everything is! Enjoy. (the pics are condensed, so they lost a lot of quality)

View from the ground.

I'm guessing this image was taken from the ground level, but after more rainfall so that the falls look more exciting.

See what I mean? This is the lower part of the falls.

View from the bridge. The upper half of the falls. If you look to the top left, that's where we are about to hike to!

View from near the bridge of the upper falls.

Vertigo shot from the very top looking down. In the righthand center of the photo you can see the sidewalk at the ground level.

Columbia River Gorge, which was also used quite a bit in the film, though never when it was this sunny.

This is farther up the creek from the falls. Very Forks-like I think.

I wanted to show the greenery of the trees. How awesome is that? That's why I moved to Oregon. Do you think they'll cast me as Kate in BD?
So, that’s that. I tried to convince my friend to swing by Corbett’s View Point Inn on our way back to the city, but he wouldn’t do it. Sigh, they can’t all be Twi-dorks. When GryffendorsSayWhat comes to town though, Twilight tour! woot woot.

Found this blog today,
http://vancityallie.com
, it’s pretty great, especially for us Northwesterners. Anyway, the author, Allie, managed to check out the sets for New Moon and Eclipse (which is currently filming up there in sunny Vancouver, BC), as well as have some random-celebrity sightings (including the wonderful Stephenie Meyer), so I figured I’d share:

A letter to Twilight (aka LTT)
September 20, 2009 at 12:48 am | Posted in Bella, Kristen Stewart | Leave a commentTags: acting, adventureland, Bella, in the land of women, Kristen Stewart, smoking, twilight
Here is my first letter to LTT and GriffendorsSayWhat’s response. I think it will help set the mood on my views of Kristen Stewart. LTT is yet to respond.
Dear LTT (mostly UC),
I can’t believe that some people still defend Kristen’s acting. Even in the tiny clip I saw from Catch That Kid she majorly sucked. Forgivable then, when she’s what 14? But at 18, we expect more. I had a moment of faith while watching In The Land of Women on Lifetime the other day (okay, maybe it was HBO) when she’s yelling at her sister. I had just tuned in midway and I cried out, “Oh my god! She can act!”

Kristen being angsty in In the Land of Women making Brody's job that much harder.
The movie continued. The acting skill of that moment diminished. I mean, that scene in the car where she talks about Ethan and having sexual exploration with him at age 11. And this is why she hates her mother? Ridic. Worst acting ever. Such Bella acting. Ugh.
Then I saw where she started smoking (‘cuz that was just all over your blog), totally Meg Ryan’s fault. Best moment of Kristen’s acting failure in In the Land of Women: She’s in the hospital while her mom’s doing chemo and she’s all about trying to get over her hating her mom issues. So her mom says, “Why don’t you start by telling me why you’re so angry with me.” and KStew’s all pulling an Emma Watson in HP5 think-about-her-lines-for-a-full-22-seconds-before-saying-them, then finally stutters out, “I-I just, I-I’ve been hating you for s-so long that,” LONG PAUSE “I d-don’t even know where to begin.” Why don’t you begin by getting another career that doesn’t involve speaking? (“Whoa, what is going on?”)
The main issue with KStew and the movie adaptation of Twilight for me is that they completely change her character from the book, thus changing the theme. I’m a huge promoter of the adaptation needing to lose/change details, as long as they don’t lose the overall theme. Bella not being a caretaker of her dad (not cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, always having her homework done, making sure he has stuff to make a sandwich or some form of leftovers when he’s working late etc.) in the movie is a major character development issue. When you read Midnight Sun, Stephenie gives us a blanket list of adjectives that describe Bella (from Edward’s POV, but really it’s just how SM is trying to make sure she’s got Bella down). Bella can’t recognise she’s selfless, because, well, she’s selfless. In the movie she’s not selfless, at all. A klutz, yes. Shy, yes (well, sort of). Selfless, no. How on earth are we supposed to believe that she’s more worried about the werewolves and vampires dying in Eclipse than herself dying (when clearly the vamps/wolves can’t really die all that easily) if she’s not selfless in movie one?
With Kind Regards,
TeamSeth

Okay, seriously, she really does look like Lindsay Lohan a la Mean Girls here.
GSW’s response:
To add to this discussion I can talk about her bella acting in the movie Adventureland. Its like “wait bella works at a theme park now?” “no bella dont sleep with that guy!” ahhhh!!!! “bella cusses and smokes weed? huh???”
And a postscript from TS: Can you believe they casted KStew as Joan Jett in The Runaways movie? UGH.
Eclipse Cast Pics
September 19, 2009 at 5:24 pm | Posted in Eclipse | Leave a commentTags: cast pics, Eclipse, movies
Hey fans of Twilight-
We’ve all seen the pics of the Eclipse cast but what does everything think of these casting decisons? TeamSeth and GriffendorsSayWhat will break it down for you here.
Xavier Samuel as Riley:

GriffendorsSayWhat: I think this is a good pick, as Riley is just a regular nondesript vampire and it really doesnt matter too much what he looks like. Xavier is cute in a boy-next-door sort of way (or maybe a boy who breaks into your house and steals your clothes and pillows?)
TeamSeth: I agree with you. Riley was actually never attractive whenever I read the book, but I’m okay with him being cute when I have to actually look at him.
Did he steal the pillows? I hope he stole her khaki Old Navy skirt that KStew doesn’t wear in Twilight when she goes over to the Cullens for the first time. Heh.
Julia Jones is Leah Clearwater:
GSW: She almost looks too nice to be Leah…
TS: No way!!! She looks like she’s got this bad side to her. But Leah isn’t all that mean either, just heart broken. Her character is pretty depressing I think. I like this cast a lot.
BooBoo Stewart as Seth Clearwater:
GSW: I know Seth is supposed to be young, but seriously. I guess 11 year old fans of the Jonas Brothers will be pleased? TeamSeth what do you think of the casting of your fav character?
TS: Ugh. Makes me want to change my avatar. **READ: I’m not a pedophile, I just like the character in the BOOK because he’s so awesome and not teenage angst like…oh yeah, EVERYONE ELSE.**
Jack Huston as Royce King II:
GSW: Not sure I will be able to watch him without thinking about Pirates….he just looks too much like J. Depp. I hope he gets a haircut before he has to play a 1930′s banker…
TS: I hate this character. I really do. I agree with the Johnny Depp part. I wish they got someone slightly younger looking, since he’s supposed to be in his 20s or younger, right? But at least this guy looks sleazy!
Jodelle Ferland as Bree:
GSW: She definitely has that freaky vampire stare thing going on.
TS: She really does! She was in so many horror films, it’s no wonder.
Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria (re-cast):
GSW: I dont even know where to start. I am a little upset about this re-cast. What happened Rachelle Lefevre? It was only 10 days!!! What does everything of the re-cast of Victoria? She looks the part but I am sad about switching up a main character in the middle of the series.
TS: I hate the idea of recasting in general. Unless someone gets preggers (like Katie Holmes in The Dark Knight), then why recast? Plus I thought Rachelle was great. I mean the line “I’m the one with the wicked curve ball.” How could you not want that in the movie where she actually shines? Oh well.
